Seisho
Seisho, Kaidan Whitehouse
Seisho, Kaidan Whitehouse has been sitting with the Green Bay Zen Center since December of 2019. He took Jukai vows in November of 2020, solidifying formal commitments to the Buddha-Dharma path in the Hollow Bones tradition.
Growing up in a non-traditional household, this provided Seisho fertile ground for self-exploration. Having a grandmother from Japan, various traveling experiences, and a strong placement of the natural world in his life really widened his eyes to the world. Having an educational background in the arts has and still is a method for delving into deeper inquiries that Seisho encounters from these expanded views.
Seisho enjoys practicing tea ceremony as a part of regular routine and continued meditative practice. Outside of this practice, he finds gardening another extension of this meditative practice in action, providing some level of care and compassion.
In his free time, you would find Seisho hiking through forests, reading a book (or trying to), watching some ridiculous movie, or enjoying a homemade meal with his son and spouse.
