Definitions
Kinhin is practiced between 2 periods of zazen. Walking the practitioner focuses attention on posture, breath and pace.
Sangha is the community of meditation practitioners.
Zazen is Zen meditation. Za – is the sitting position; Zen is meditative awareness.

It is important to arrive several minutes prior to the start of the period.
However, once you enter the meditation hall (zendo) we ask that you do not speak, and
that you quietly take your seat. You will find that there are rituals, however,
you will not be expected to know them, and you can participate as much or as little as you
feel comfortable.
There is no fee to attend either the Sunday or Thursday weekly services. Donations are always welcome.
Cushions, benches and everything you need is provided. Wear dark, comfortable clothing without logo’s to minimize distractions.
Sunday, 8am and Thursday, 6pm. Arrive 15 minutes early to receive instruction on sitting and the service.
The building is not owned by GBZC. We are the guests of Power For Change, a counseling service. The GBZC zendo is located on the second floor. Signs will direct you. Please be respectful to staff and the property.
